The completion of professional training is achieved upon graduation from higher education and obtaining the authorization as a painter, which certifies the traditional working method that respects all the canons of Byzantine painting, both in fresco and in icons.

Begun in the Empire of the Holy Emperors Constantine and Helena, Byzantine art defines itself as a perfect imprint upon Eastern Christianity, both defining it and simultaneously marking the radical difference between sacred art and secular art. Thus, painting, like Byzantine music, spiritually crowns the holiness and sacredness of the Orthodox Church.

By preserving the Tradition of the Church with extensive documentation that includes the most beautiful Churches painted by Byzantine painters, our team maintains the authentic technique and unique atmosphere of Byzantine painting in the most genuine way.

In a world where today there are almost no differences between truth and falsehood, it is necessary to clarify a few aspects regarding the working technique:

  • Fresco has been, since antiquity, and is still today rightfully considered the most durable and perfected painting technique, dating back over 6,000 years. Based on this argument, our team strictly preserves the traditional working technique, using old lime mixed with hemp and sand for the black fresco, followed by the white fresco, and employing the best pigments available on the market for the painting.
  • Icons have their genesis in the Byzantine Empire between the 3rd and 7th centuries, and it is here that they reach their perfection as a working technique between the 8th and 12th centuries. By respecting the canons and techniques of Byzantine manuals, our icons are crafted on linden wood, carved in a chest shape with reinforcement feathers on the back, and gilded with gold leaf.
